Don't know the area very well and was wondering if anybody could point me to some good bank fishing spots for some cats.

The Friendship area offers the best bank fishing along with the dam access from Overlook. Access to the river is off CR 347. You can also catch some cats off FM 971 by Doppler radar bridge.

on 971 doppler bridge, can you just turn on what google earth shows, a dirt road towards the water and just park there?

On the west side of Doppler bridge is a parking lot for the hunters and fishermen. Your within 75 yards of the water. On the east side of the bridge you have gravel left over from the highway department doing road work. You can park on either side of the bridge. Be careful on the east side after rain, gets a little slick. On the east side just don't block the gate when you park.
