Thinking about launching at the old marina on Rowlett rd. and fishing the mouth of Rowlett creek for catfish. I'll probably launch sometime around 9am-10am and fish most of the day. Probably going to hug the shoreline along Rowlett rd so there should be a decent amount of protection from the wind.
If the catfish don't cooperate, I'm going to paddle up into the creek and see if any sandies or hybrids are hungry for a rooster tail.
If anyone is interested in joining me, just send me a pm and let me know.

Good luck man. I have always done really well with channel cats using dip baits (chemdogs) at that spot. Blues have been more elusive in that area.

I went there twice last year and had some decent luck. Caught a few nice 6-10 pounders, until the gar moved in. Once I got my first gar, the blues just shut down. I'm a little worried about the gars again this time around... they are just so damned annoying. You think you have a nice blue on but Noooo.... just a stupid gar. Ugh!!!
Just thinking about that is making me question going there lol.
Wonder where else I could go and be able to avoid that south wind...
