I have noticed that when fishing for "Striped" fish, most people use (Mostly) Chart., White, and chrome. With other fish(bass, crappie)people use different colors, especially when fishing murky water. I was wondering if any one uses dark lures when fishing lower visibility water? I haven't, but am going to start trying. Going to paint me some dark slabs for muddy water.

Solid black, solid black with a chartreuse head or tail also works.

If I had wire forms I would have made some today.

I have a couple dark color lures that work well sometimes - especially dark purple. But mostly it's white, chrome & chartreuse.

Scooter, good question and you will like this blog. Someone posted it a year or two ago and I saved it.

I wish I have more time on the water to test and play.

I know that in low light conditions dark colors work awesome and have caught many fish on black slabs and sassy shad

I dont know if I'm doing it wrong or if there is a better way or not but I have my plastics in two separate 3500 plano boxes one labelled Light and one for Dark bodies. If its a nice sunny day and the water isn't too stained I stick to the lights and if its a cloudy day or murky water I start with the dark bodies. Usually produces fish if I stick to that idea in general. I always start with the basics and if they dont work then I move to more exotic type colors like electric chicken or oranges and pinks.
