I bought a small airbrush compressor from harbor freight when I started all of this. It works just fine, but I hate the hose that came with it, plastic coiled thing. It hangs on the side of the table all the time and gets caught up in stuff. Well, I can't find an air hose that fits it (it has the same size connection as the airbrush does). All the hoses I've found have a larger fitting. Should I bite the bullet and get a larger air compressor with larger fittings, suck it up and live with the coiled hose? I haven't been able to find a fitting that works.

I also use a compressor from HF. Post a pic of the fitting and tell us what brand airbrush you are using. It makes a difference.

I use a harder & steenbeck airbrush. It has the same fittings as Iwata. The Iwata have 1/2 inch fitting on one end and 3/16 inch fitting for the gun (at least that's what the diameter is with a ruler). The small pneumatic compressor I have has the 3/16 inch fitting. When I've looked at couplings those sizes don't match to what the coupling sizes are. A half inch coupling looks huge.

Had similar problems. To make matters worse the threads in the fittings might be different between brands/models. Search online by brands and make a few calls...might save you a few $$. Or you could just buy hoses and fittings from me as I have a bunch...all wrong sizes and shapes...lesson learned the hard way frown.

There are all kinds of adapters available. Check eBay.

It's hard to measure IPT threads with a ruler and get the right size. I think the smaller fitting is 1/8" inch.

I carried my hoses into a hardware store and started trying different brass fittings until I found the ones that I needed. Add a little plumber's tape and I was set.
