This is my first year fishing the run, roughly when does the run die off in DFW area?

It depends on the year. Last year I caught fish all the way to the end of April. I have seen it end earlier than that and later. I would say anywhere from mid April to Early Early May.

It hasn't even gotten good yet. We might have sandies until the end of May this year.

If we get a good rain it would help tremendously.

East of Dallas, it is like clockwork. I start locating them in early February and they are absolutely on Fire by the end of february. If the lake has water enough to get a flow from the river then I just automatically take February 23-25 off from work and catch them until I get tired of catching them. I can not speak to all places but east od Dallas and East of Rockwall that is when it happens and it has never failed me as long as water conditions allow for a run.

It's usually that way in Dallas but they showed up really late this year. Mid April is usually the peak.
