I'm heading to Emma in a couple of weeks and was wondering if the buffs are still biting down there?

Paul since no replies I will help my best.I've got buffalo after first cool spells in september with still warm water temps at emma and 60lb + have been captured in october so I think april water temps will! give you an opportunity for them. The fish will be biting and fishing early morning weekdays will produce the most fish.What has changed on lake Austin is that the stocked grass carp years ago have grown quite large and are competing with commons and buffalo.Be prepared to catch a lot of grass carp and they can get quite large so maybe a pb!You will still catch commons for sure but maybe not as many and buff could be hit or miss. Good luck and you WILL catch fish.

Thanks for the reply. A few of us made a trip from Dallas down to Emma back in October 2015 and we caught some decent fish. Between the three of us we had 9 fish over 30lbs (two of which were over 40lbs) but they were all grassers and commons. I think Mark had a buffalo on once but it got off.

This reminds me that I never updated my grasser PB on my signature...lol
