Does anybody wade fish Christmas bay, Freeport area? I would like to and want to know where the good areas are, I've tried once and had no luck at all. What locations are best, water depth, lures, bottom type, or contours? Target species would be redfish, trout, flounder, and jacks if there are any. This would all be helpful. Thanks.

I doubt you get too much info on location but you dont need anyones honey hole to catch fish. Use light tackle, 1/16 - 1/8 oz jig head and a 3" to 5" plastic. Find some flats 3.5' deep or less. Cast near oyster beds and if there is grass, cast into bare spots (beds). I used a spinner bait on Saturday and caught a slam! Spinner baits and gold spoons will produce.

Google maps to find this road called 257L:

Find Surfside and go east past "Seahorse". Used to be 3 telephone poles close together on the south side of the road just before 257L as shown on the map. I don't think there's a sign on the road. Drive to the end and follow the shoreline around to the right to the point circled in red. The blue line is a deep (5 - 7') channel that runs through there. Always been a great area for me if the water is clear. Also good for a yak if you have one or jon boat too. LOL I can give up the spot now that I'm fishing Rockport! Good luck!

Not sure if Hot Spots has a wadefishing map for that area but if so, it's $10 well spent, great way to get general info on an area, your feet will tell you more.
