Just an FYI , WalMart is now carrying their Super Tech brand of Sea Foam. It was a little under $5.00 a bottle. It is almost $2.00 a bottle less than Sea Foam.

Really think it's the exact same? Good luck.

I used to get a new demo rig every year. Typically put 600 hours on them when I turned them in religiously used premium oil in them and they always were still tight and had a lot of miles left.

Except one year ran Wally oil all year, nothing else different. At end of the year that motor was just tired. 90 psi each cylinder and bearings were just wore out. Moral?

It really is different.

Pay thousands of $$$ for a nice rig and then cheap out on oil. I just don't understand.
BTW, everyday price on "real" SeaFoam is $6.48 at Northern Tool. I never saw where it did a lot, and if you go through enough fuel to keep it fresh, you really don't need it. Evinrude doesn't recommend using any additives.

I agree with this, and have seen the same thing on large Diesel engines, and I have rebuilt hundreds of them. The people that think "oil is oil, it's all the same right?" Are as full of schiz as a hack horse.

There is a reason something sells cheaper.

I never thought about this topic getting a debate going about one being better than the other. I was just throwing it out there that a supertech brand was now available. Everyone is going to have a difference of opinion. That's just the way life is. Until people do extensive lab testing , who is to say that one is truly better than the other anyway ? All we can do is go by what the company puts on the label that the product is intended to do. All of us I am sure has tried some type of off brand product just to see if it truly as good as the original. Don't knock it till someone has proved it to be a truly bad product. Time will tell.

Or instead of making a huge expensive mistake, you can take the word of Pat Goff and others on here who have been around the block several times and seen the same wheel reinvented, seen a lot of problems, fixed a lot of problems and actually came up with a pretty good idea of what caused the problems.

WC Fields wasn't far off and there is a reason why a product sells cheaper than it's competitor.

Or you can go it alone and hope your mistakes aren't too expensive.

I'm going to disagree with an earlier post where it was said that sea foam doesn't do much or isn't needed if fuel is kept fresh. I've been inside 100's of outboards in my lifetime and can tell you that sea foam works. There is a night and day difference on the inside of these engines that have been run on sea foam. For instance I rebuilt a 99 200efi mercury a while back that had sea foam added to gas every time since day 1 the motor had over 1000 hours and was absolutely spotless on the inside, no carbon buildup anywhere.
