My family and I are having a camping weekend out at Lake Georgetown. None of us do too much white bass fishing but would love to get my nephew and sister on a good number of fish. If anyone could provide some advice or suggestions for catching some whites and Sandbass it would be much appreciated.

Bank fishing or boat?

Theres a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. Steven Wright

watch for seagulls. when they are bunched up and diving there are sandies down there. Both are following the shad. Throw chrome rattle traps. If they are surfacing run the trap as high as possible, fast. if the birds are just around but no surface action then count the trap down before reeling in. go 5, 10,15 etc until you fond the right depth. Electronics will tell you what depth they are in.

1. Georgetown is a tough lake to fish and find fish
2. We are right in the middle of the post spawn, some of the whites are still up river, some back at the lake
3. Clear lake, go light. Light tackle, light line.
4. Rarely any gulls to watch for, but if you do see birds, don't go blasting into them with your big motor. The lake is fished hard all year, and the fish will turn off immediately.
5. IF you do find them, you'll have to keep moving because the fish typically are on the move in this lake
6. And most importantly, there are just as many hybrids as whites in the lake, make sure you know how to tell the difference if you plan to keep any.
