Hi I'm new to the Dallas area and I am currently staying in Grapevine off of 2499. Has anybody ever fished Denton creek on either side of 2499? Is it allowed??? I'm dying to get out and it's close. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If I was that close I would have already found out if there was a fish to be caught lol. If it's walking distance I'd just leave car at the house. Should be able to walk in right at the bridge then as long as your below high water mark should t have a problem up or down stream.

I did a little exploring today and I think you are right Robert, my best bet is to walk in. Once I get settled I'll be able to get the boat out but it's still a lot of fun to be able to bank fish smaller water. Thanks guys

I live just upstream from the spot where Denton Creek runs under 2499. Have not had a lot of success in the creek itself, however there is a small impoundment a bit further upstream that produces. Bluegill, Greens, smallish Largemouth. Have seen some good sized Buffs and Carp as well. Accessibilty depends on water level.

I am actually buying a house in Flower Mound so I will have to do that! We will get together one of these days. I'm curious to know.....are there any other creeks in that area that produce?

The impoundement is behind an apartment complex off N Grapevine Mills Blvd. Its more than likely overfilled by the creek at this time.
