Purchased a new minn kota maxxum 70 lb hand control trolling motor last October First time out off position was #1 reverse I took it to a authorized minn kota repair shop (200 miles round trip). Next time on lake same problem. Took it back to repair shop (another 200 miles) and said it was the switch. Replaced it. First time on water ran about 2 minutes and hung in reverse and would not shut off. Called minn kota and they said all they would do is send me another switch. Put it in myself and off poition is still #1 reverse. HELP. I'm at my wits end. . I will say I had a maxxum 74 that lasted 17 years. Thanks

I would contact Minn Kota and get a RA and send it back to them, tell them ship you a new one.

Yea, buying off Amazon might of not been the best move on TM

May be too late to return to Amazon. You should have done it in October. Amazon has one of the best return policies. Check to see, but it's probably too late.

At least they have parts. My three year old Motorguide Vari-Max went out and Motorguide said it was discontinued and no parts available. Resulting in a $900 boat anchor. Motorguide will never get another penny from me.

And I know who "Jeff" is.
