I drive a Toyota corolla due too my commute to FW to work & since I'm up there all week I'm thinking of getting a yak. I've researched a few roof racks but wanted to see if someone had one they would recommend.

I had a Thule roof rack on my Jetta that worked really well. I drive a jeep now, so I'm about to get rid of it. Too bad I'm in the DFW area. smirk

I drive a VW Passat (slightly bigger than your corolla - similar to a camry) and I use the Thule roof rack. It works great but is pretty pricey. I'm able to load my Raptor up there with relative ease. With all that said, I envy the guys with trucks and trailers!

I used a Yakima system on my Jetta (a lot of VW owners on this thread). I bought the towers, cross bars and kayak saddles and straps from someone on Craigslist, then bought the Yakima car-specific clips from an online retailer. I used it for about five years (until we got a truck) then sold the rack system on Craigslist for about what I paid for it five years earlier - net cost was the price paid for the clips.

Thanks for the input guys...
I found it stunning the price variation on these racks....
Are the cheaper ones not worthy?

I use a jetski trailer. Much easier to load/unload and you can find them for about half the price of a full Thule/Yakima setup. But, I also use a thule on-top rack for my bicycles. I just didn't want to fork over another couple hundred bucks for a kayak adapter. I really like the ease of a trailer.
