Here's a pattern that mimics the Orangespotted bream. It's a beautiful little fish that looks like it belongs in an aquarium. Orangespots live in creeks, ponds, lake shallows, backwaters, river margins, and marshes. In Texas, this species has been introduced in the past as far south as the Rio Grande basin.

The pattern consists of 6 different colors and required one custom made stencil. Took about 3 hours from start to finish, that includes selecting and mixing colors and figuring out how to apply the layers. The lure blank is a 2.5, that's about as big as Orangespots get, but it also is pretty easy to put on smaller lure blanks like the 1.5 square-bill. Haven't fished it yet but I'm thinking it will be a good pattern for the off color waters currently in many north east Texas area lakes. Keep thinking good thoughts and good luck fishing.

Sold out of this pattern pretty quickly...every one of them went north. Wasn't sure why?? Turns out this little sunfish is pretty common up around the lower Great Lakes and as far north as Ontario, Canada. Who knew??
