I have a 2007 skeeter 21iclass with a 300 yamaha hpdi. It has a 14" hydrodamic jackplate and Im currently run a 27-T prop. Im getting any where from 68 to 70mph out of it at 5700 rpms. I dont believe im getting enough bow lift out of it. I also have a tempest 27p also as well that I run it. I have played with the jack plate from 3.5 inches below pad to 2 inches below pad. The boat was set up about a year ago with steves custom props with the original owner of the boat an they said they changed out the jack plate due to horrible hole shot an no drive ability. After the set up they said they had the boat loaed with 2 people an got 73mph out of it after setup. I seen it there one time after I purchased it an it was another guy and me but no tackle or anything just full tanks of gas. I checked the compression on the motor about a month ago whille the motor was cold a got a straight across the board 85psi. Thats was on a cold motor. I went to the lake the other day with with josh the owner of steves custom props an we ran 2 different props an he played with the jack plate a little. Still wasnt the results we were after. Now they are saying it it becase of compression. I have been told by several people that its because of the 14" set back. They have never seen a skeeter boat perform with that much of a setback. I believe if im getting the rpms out of the motor that wanting 5700 to 5800 I dont see it being compression. The other day I got the boat to 72.6 with just me in it. It runs fine an sound fine. I Dont what else so do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Cody, did you ever run your dads prop to see if you picked up any mph? Did you do a leakdown on the motor to see if it had a high leak number yet?

Just got off the phone with Hydrotech who specializes in yamaha. Cold your motor should test above 110 psi per cylinder. Call them and they will tell you the same thing. 417-725-5746
