Heading to Amon Carter for the first time. Hoping someone would answer some boating questions. Can I motor my boat through that tunnel or do I need to trolling motor through it? Is the side of the lake with the docs on it safe to run all over? Or is there hidden timber I should be careful of? The timber side looks pretty thick so I would only idle in there. I did a search but couldn't find these questions.
Any help is much appreciated.

I threw together some pictures to give you a little help. They're a little crude, but it gives you an idea. This lake really isn't bad to run and on the old side if you stick to the middle of the lake you'll be fine, but for the most part its pretty clear aside from a few spots I pointed out. The tunnel is fine to idle through, there is no need to troll. I've also drawn you some "boat lanes" on the new side which are clear to run. I've grown up on this lake and know how to run it pretty well, even through the stumps, but it would be to arduous to draw all that, and for safety sake if your new to the lake I wouldn't run those parts anyway. There is also a channel leading back to the creek you can follow on the old side, but as I said before, for safety sake just take your time and idle it. I'd also be careful if you go north of the rock hump. You'll see stick ups on the hump from Selma Park if you leave from there, I'm not sure any rocks will be visible with the lake high. I would have circled it to avoid it, but I figured that was pretty obvious. You may want to pull up google earth and look at the big picture so you can correlate my snips. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I've caught plenty (a whole bunch) of fish on the south side of that tunnel! Used to go there after my night shift out in the oil fields awhile back (when oil was worth something). I really like that lake. It seems like it is well aged in.
