56 degrees yesterday, by my therm...water stained in spots and kinda muddy in others...bass aren't biting. Some cats and crappie are being caught, but it is slow. And lots of people on the lake and on the bank.

Yeah. I haven't fished it much this spring. Warm Weekends usually fill it up. Lots of speed boats and water skiers. I never have figured out why they come to Alvarado for that. Looks to me like you could have much more fun on bigger lakes where you could go faster for a longer period of time. Just my 2 cents tho.

One word answer....WAKE. I learned to water ski on Lake Greeson, in Arkansas, a crater lake that had little to no wake. Basically glass or just a little wake. Speed boat races happened regularly and were both sanctioned and non sanctions...Great place to hang out, skiing, watching race boats, jumping off Chimney Rock (if you were brave enough or crazy enough). Did I mention the weekend flotillas?! Clear water...pretty decent fishing too...but I never fished it...LOL
