Bought a Z119 over a year and a half ago and very happy. At 19-6 it handles rough water very well, hole shot is really good. Very fishable, fit and finish great. Next boat will be another Ranger.

OK 3 foot! I have no idea how shallow one will draft .... just an assumption. Its OK, I know you get dizzy from your boat spinning round and round after you let off the trolling motor.

Not sure if I'll ever get over the need for speed but if I could afford both I would have the baddest Ranger they made in the garage as well.

You want to see a Ranger shine? Try drifting next to another boat in the wind. More often than not the Ranger will be the slower drift of most boats out there. My Ranger drifts sideways so I do not have to fight to keep the nose from spinning around in the wind.

Ranger, Skeeter and phoenix have the most stable fishing platforms I have fished out of. Would love the chance to fish out of a legend v20 or v21 but have not been in one yet.

I had a Z522 and it would go in as shallow of water as any 20' boat. I had it in water so shallow a friends 20' boat would not follow. I agree with above Ranger is the best boat brand hands down when the trolling motor is down. I like the different brands for different reasons. I believe in the wind its hard to beat a Ranger when you are fishing.
The 721 compared to the 520, they have good points on both boats. The fishing with trolling motor hands down Ranger. I believe lay out would be a personal preference on which you like. The ride and performance hands down 721.
The resale it is really hard to beat a Ranger on resale. I am talking about if you put a Ranger and any other boat up for sale at the same moment usually the ranger will sale faster. I think on money they will be real close because the 721 will not cost near what the Ranger will brand new. The 721 with a Pro XS 250 starts at 49,900, their is lots of room between that and a 520 new. I am talking about the 520 if it lose ten thousand in the first year and the 721 loses 10 in the first year you now have a one year old 721 that would sale for 39. That is easy to sale no matter what brand you like. just my .02

Whoever thinks a Ranger will not draft shallow must not have fished in many. I prefer super shallow water and my Z520 does just fine. Not many places I can't get into.
I will leave all the arguing over brands to others as I am more o the frame of mind to buy what you like and what fits you and not try to worry about if the next guy approves of the way I spent my money or not. I will say I usually swap a boat every year or two but I have had my Z520 for 4 years now and love it. I was paid for the day I bought it so I could have gotten rid of it anytime I wanted. Fact is I love the way it fishes, the build quality, the performance and also the time or two I ordered an accessory from the factory. Very personable and friendly customer service. I just love the boat and the way it fishes. Do you think it will stay the same now that BPS owns Ranger? Lots of Ranger owners have expressed that concern at the boat shows this year.

The Ranger Z521c is the second best boat made. Another smart fisherman! ....I could only afford the first 4 model letters, so I didn't get the "c" with mine....

For the record obviously a tad biased...The simple fact that every brand out there is always compared to Ranger should tell you something. Ranger takes more bashing than any other brand as well, another indicator of something, negative or positive? I'm not sure Negatives...they are expensive, but not much more so, if any, than the other top tier brands, and certainly not enough of a difference to affect a purchase decision at this price level. They're slow...if speed is your deal...A Ranger is not for you, but I don't have to tell you guys that Jan-April in Texas, you ain't often running 80. Positives...Fishabilty (is that a word?) is awesome, and the sales numbers attest to that. Ride quality and handling are similar to any other boat in the same size category, I make that statement assuming the guy at the wheel has some driving ability and common sense. Ranger fit and finish is right at the top of the industry...they aren't perfect by any means, but very good. Above average quality materials are used in all areas of a ranger boat. Example...every storage compartment and the live wells on a Ranger boat are gel coated parts of the structure...no drop in plastic containers in a Ranger boat. Factory support is second to none...a call to Ranger with your serial number will get you just about anything you need..They come up with parts for 20 year old boats...amazing. Ranger is really good about taking care of known issues with boats..even for 2nd owners and beyond. The soft lids issue on some boats is well known, as is some of the hub issues on the trailers, and they've stepped up, as they should, to help owners. No brand is perfect, and one size doesn't fit all. Bass guys are fiercely loyal and proud of their brands, as they should be. I see awesome rigs out there, of all brands, all the time. One thing about a Ranger boat...you know what your getting..A quality boat that taken care of, will last a lifetime. Happy shopping.

Been in plenty of them built after the buyout. Crazy thing is the same person at the factory answers the phone when you call, same people building boats are still thre abd the quality is the same or better. A couple of execs left but past that Ranger is still building one of the best boats. You cannot see a decline in quality. Same naysayers said they would be sold in BPS and small independent dealers would be let go. Not true at all. Ranger is ran as its own brand.
