Smart Phone, pair of $200 Costas. Not bad for 50 years of fishing.

So it might be a $30-$40 fishing license to you.. but when you see us sticks in full throttle skipping accross that damn water you better know we done paid our dues. My license is worth at least 2k beat that hammer

Almost lost my boat twice, launching with rope attached to bow eye, first time rope broke, had to swim for it, fortunately not but a few yds off the ramp. Second time musta not snapped the snap to the cleat, that time I almost lost my life, nearly drowned, took a mouth full of water and got choked. Had a box of top water baits take a flying dive off the front deck on Benbrook, fortunately they floated and I got em all back with a dipnet. Other than that pretty lucky other than a few lewvers.lol

I had my phone inside my waders while salmon fishing a packed river in Michigan. I had discovered a "magic bait" and was catching salmon after salmon while guys who had been standing there for days were still skunked. This was a trip with some old college buddies so I had consumed a few brews and was getting pretty vocal/obnoxious about my success with the 100 or so other guys around me in earshot. Eventually my brew stash ran low and I had to walk back to shore to reload. Unbeknownst to me the dam had been opened more and river had risen considerably whilst I had been reeling in fish left and right. As the water got deeper on my walk back I wound up on my tip toes and and I tripped over a small rock and went right in the drink. My phone and pride were ruined. Judging by the thunderous round of applause and cheering that went up around the river everyone else really seemed to enjoy the spectacle. I guess I had that one a coming.

I have lost a few pairs of Costa's, hats, probably a dozen cell phones between my brothers and I. I have a combo i'm assuming I kicked over the side, I had it when I was at the lake first thing in the morning, but I have never seen it since.....

this is embarrasing... bought a big Tica spinning reel to use while wading out while saltwater fishing... just bought the reel and couldn't wait to try it... forgot to tighten it down on the rod... when i made the first cast it went up in the air and down into the water.... i cleaned and cleaned it but it never worked right after that..

I let a buddy of mine ... real good buddy borrow my Champion for 5 days at Rayburn. He launched on his next to last day at Humphries Pavilion, by his self, and then after tying the boat up got back in the truck and from there his story is a little fuzzy. He said he accidentally hit the shifter anyway the next thing he knows he's window deep in the water. Ended up sinking his whole truck underwater.

Tow trucked his truck out, called his son to get my trailer and then load the boat. His truck was totalled. I still have never got a really good story but I haven't loaned him my boat since.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
