What's yalls opinion on using light braid for finesse fishing.

I use 15lb braid to 8lb fluoro leader for drop shot. Going any lighter than 15lb braid for LMB makes me nervous (popping/snapping/cutting off)

I use 10 lbs braid to a 8 lbs fluro leader on my drop shot and shaky head. Haven't snapped the braid yet.

I use 12# Sunline SX 1 Hi-Vis yellow mainline and 7# Sunline Sniper on my really finesse rig for dropshot at Texoma. I use 20# Power Pro yellow mainline and 8# or 10# InvizX leader on my other dropshot/shaky head rig. The yellow is easier for me to see and hasn't seemed to bother the fish.

When its a tough day, my buddy pulls out his spinning setup with 20lb braid and throws a fluke or wacky rig. Outfishes me more than I'd like to admit so I really doubt the fish can see that thin braid. He never uses a leader.

I use this on spinning rod, keep your drag light, wear em down, don't try to air dry em and you'll
have more success.

Yes, 10 braid main line to 8 or even 6 fluoro leader for many/most finesse presentations.

I think in some darker waters, one could fish straight braid in many cases. But, the pros almost, but not exclusively, use as light a line as possible no matter the finesse configuration especially in clear water or on highly pressured lakes. You can cast farther, too.

Wait until you get snagged on the bottom and try to break that 10 lbs. braid. Tough to do.

On spinning tackle you never reel against the drag, but pull up on the rod as you work the fish, then reel down on the line fast to take it up . . . and then start another tug of war until you can lip it.

The water I'm fishing usually has about 12 - 15 inches of visibility. I use 20# braid and 12# copolymer leader, which I like around docks and rocks for strength.

Under 10 lb. braid on a spinning setup works great. Fishing very light, weightless or wacky rigged baits produces pretty well in all the lakes I fish. Water clarity is lightly stained to tannic, tea or coffee colored, so I can't speak about line visibility in gin clear water. Almost never break off...just be sure to retie the hook every trip.

I use 30# braid with a leader on my "regular" spinning gear. For "light finesse," I use 10# with 6# or 8# leader.

10lb Sufix 832 in the neon green color so you can detect line jumps, best braid on the market in my opinion. Very smooth in the guides. Any fluoro leader you like, change weight depending on clarity, I like the FG knot for the connection.

20lb is the lightest I'll use and I match it with 8-10lb mono or flouro. 10lb braid is the size of 2lb mono. That's why I use 20-30lb. I like matching line diameter so I get a good knot when joining lines.
