Any experience with Okuma rods? The SLV looks like a good deal, with good reviews and ratings. Also, I found a lesser known Okuma rod for an even lower price that has great reviews as well - the Celilo. Tackle Tour gave a full out review on it paired with an Okuma Integrity reel and it scored an 8.91/10. It can be found on Overstock for as little as 42.49 and is considered a very beefy, strong rod that can tackle large fish and punch large flies effectively. Just wondering since I have been looking for a new budget rod. If you have any other inexpensive fly rods in mind, please let me know.

Got an svl reel on clearance at academy. until I drove over it with the truck after working a double and driving 8 hours to trout water and falling in the river. That reel busted stripers hybrids and really big trout. The drag system never let me down even with six x. Never fished the rods though but would like another of the reel for sure.

I use my Okuma Crisium 7' 3-4 wt for creeks and small streams in DFW and honestly can roll cast better with it than with my Orvis Clearwater 5 wt. I'm a novice but think it's a pretty good rod for the price.

So far, the Celilos have looked like an outstanding deal to me while also being well-suited for the heavy bass fishing I like to do. The only problem is I can't find any Celilos in any heavier than a 5/6 wt.

I had 2 9ft eight weight Celilos and broke them both just above the mid way point. First one was under warranty, the second one was on me but at less than $50 it is a good fast rod that won't break the bank. I'm very hard on my bass fly gear and simply put too much pressure on that rod trying to pull a 5 pound bass through the weeds. at about 8:30 in this video is when I broke the celilo
