Im just curious how many of you eat the ones you catch from little creeks. Namely Rush Creek in south Arlington. I mean, people eat fish from Lake Arlington all the time, and it is fed by all the runoff from the area too. I don't know of any bans but I want some opinions before I even mention frying fish to my kiddo, and he wants to eat all the little ones we pluck from nearby.

TPWD has some good information about that on their website...

Maybe it's because I'm on a mobile device, but I did some searching and all I've seen is water body records.

I personally do not eat fish on inner city creeks or creeks in heavily populated areas. That is just me. I know people who have eaten fish on these types of creeks and water bodies all of their lives and to my knowledge have not gotten sick. I do eat my share of fish but they are ones caught in larger water bodies with good year around currents or creeks/rivers that are located in the hill country or less populated areas that have good year around currents. Texas Parks&Wildlife does have consumption ban warnings on certain water bodies that you can also go by.

I eat a multitude of fish from city creeks but use my judgement, I was an environmental major so I can make pretty good judgments. For S Arlington I'd have to look at the locations specifically. I'd be cautious in that area because of the contaminants in the Trinity watershed.

You can search google for toxicity of fish in *insert creek or lake here* and it will pull up TPWD's rulings on that water. Then look through here: http://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoo...-and-advisories

A little raw sewage won't hurt anything, just make sure you cook it thoroughly.

I'm with Banker on this, only keep fish outside of populated areas and also only keep fish when the water is below 75 degrees. Cold fish taste good, hot fish taste like mud.
Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart
