The lake I fished is loaded with docks and I figured I'd give it a shot. I prolly caught 16 or so fish off the same dock. I fished a couple other docks and didn't get a bite. This one dock is the only one I could get bit on. Pretty fun catching them like that.

Dock shooting is a blast. Now, think back and determine why that one dock held fish versus the ones that didn't.... brush, deeper water, bigger dock ???? Nice looking specs in that cooler.

The dock had a garage at the slip. They were in the slip with the garage. I fished another one that had a garage and didn't get bit. They other dock that I saw had 3 garages but there was a guy fishing off the pier. How long do y'all usually wait until you go back to that dock? Couple days, week etc.?

I'd try it again the next day or the next time I was on that lake. I have a couple docks located that seem to always produce. The only thing I find in common between the two is they have the same water depth. They are on opposite sides of the lake too.

We have gone back to spots an hour later and caught fish. Nice catch, it is a blast to sling it
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I just came across the Bobby Garland tabs for dock shooting. Has anyone ever used them? They definitely seem safer to use.

Love my Suffix Hi-Vis Line for dock shooting. I can sure see the pull, pop and thump when they hit! Makes it easier on my aging eyes as well. 7 1/2 foot rod can shoot it wayyyy back to the back on most all docks. Becoming one of my favorite ways to crappie fish.
