Ive been using 30lb braid (power pro super slick) but find it cuts into itself on the reel when im using frogs or walking baits. two questions:

1) does anyone else have this problem? if so, how did you correct it?
2) would i be better off moving to mono or p-line?

Go up to 65# braid.

The slick is the problem. It wants to bury up. I throw my Custom Spooks along the edges. All I have ever used for 50 years is 25# Original Stren Mono. For Frogs in the slop, I like Stren Braid in 50#.

For poppers and walkers, I use 15 to 20# McCoys Mean Green, which floats because it is made with silicone. The line is VERY tuff and has a good amount of stretch and Great abrasion resistance. It also has a LOT less memory than most mono's. For throwing in the slop, I use 65# braid, I use the original Lynch Line, which is smaller and a LOT more limber than all the other braids, but it does have it's problems on windy days. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
