I have a Lowrance 7xHDI with tranducer on the trolling motor. Does anyone know if this transducer can be used to shoot through the hull? Thank you.

Yes it can, but the manual says the 800 khz signal (down scan) is severely attenuated when shooting through the hull.

If you want to get the most out of your unit, especially downscan, mount it on the transom. You'll compromise downscan and temp capabilities using it as shoot thru.
