So I'm wanting to take my girlfriend out to lake Athens tommorow and hopefully put her on some fish. I've never been out there but I've heard really good things about it. Does anyone have any tips? Any specific spots or sides of the lake? Or what's working for y'all out there? Thank you and wish me luck!

No tips or specific spots needed, just fish your strengths and you will produce fish.

We had a club tournament there this past Saturday and most everything we caught (partner and I had about 14 fish total and culled) came out of the grass in about 8-10 feet of water, and not as shallow as we might have thought they would be. Some of them came in the area in front and to the sides of "Goat Island", and a few off the dam. Also one or two around and under boat docks. Our best 5 Saturday went 13.93, and 1st place in our club had around 16.80 pounds. We caught only one on a moving bait. The rest came off of T-rigged soft plastics with a bullet weight to get it down into the grass.

Ramp was crowded today. Better get there early if you want a parking spot close to the ramp. I am beginning to wonder if anyone works for a living anymore !!!

Go early or you will deal with the Tuesday night. There was a carry over last week so there will be 70 boats instead of 40. Wish i could be one of them...
Fish your strengths around grass and small staub stick ups. You will get bit.
