Are you playing the fish at the boat? Might sound over simplified but with 65lb braid you can boat flip the new world record bass without worrying about anything breaking.. Might try horsing your fish in and flipping them, if your not doing that already.
Also have to ask is your hook size correct to the bait you're using? Sometimes a 4/0 isn't big enough for some of the bulkier creature/craw baits out there, if that's the case it doesn't give you enough hook exposure to get adequate penetration. (that's something i learned the hard way when switching from an EWG to a straight shank when i was first starting out)
Hope you figure it out! Tight lines
I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.

Hook up rates with a properly snelled good quality flipping hook are higher, IMO.

Hook up rates with a properly snelled good quality flipping hook are higher, IMO. Yes sir. They are. And a side benefit of a snell knot is that the tungsten weight rides against the eye of the hook and not against the knot. Tungsten weights can cause impact damage to the knot when it is tied any other way. This causes the line to crush and severely reduced its rating. A lot of times, it breaks on hookset, some times it "breaks for no reason...it must be junk fluorocarbon line"...haha. Even more benefit of a Snell is when the tungsten DOES slam into the eye, and not the knot, you kinda get an added sound attraction. Proving, that YES!!!!!! You CAN GET MORE BITES WITH A SNELL!!!! Sometimes.....haha.

Might wanna check the way you're tying it, or try using a different hook.
