If y'all are going to cook crappie a day or so after you catch them, how do you preserve them? Just soak them in water? Salt water? Nothing?

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Put the filets in a bowl and throw those bad boys in the fridge I add water to the bowl too, but yea it's that simple.

I put the crappie in a bowl, add a little water, then fill the bowl with ice....but it is really personal preference...any of the other posted options will work fine for a day or so...the key is to keep them refrigerated...I add mostly ice with a little water(a cup) because ice has more stored BTU's (latent BTU's) than just water without ice so the crappie are maintained at a better/more consistent temperature and thus will deteriorate more slowly(last longer)...Addtionally, when I catch crappie, I put them in an ice chest (with ice in it) instead of a livewell...especially when the lake water turns lukewarm or warmer...Love those Yetis...but used the best quality Igloos prior to yetis. Hope this information helps..

Not sure where I got the white support and then fashioned some metal screen cloth to fit snug so the don't slide down around. Good fishing!
