Do spots spawn before or after LMB? I've always caught some on Cypress and Sandlin but yesterday we fished both lakes and found them in 1'-4' in one cove on Sandlin we caught 15 and when you would set the hook on a good one they went crazy and faught hard.

The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

I believe that they spawn before. Or at least that was my experience on a lake here in LA I used to fish that had a large Spot population. And yes, they are fun to catch. And they seemed to prefer a little different color. We used a pumpkin seed/chart. jig with a chart. tube craw on Black River Lake. That's my experience, but hopefully one of the experts will chime in.
