I have a 19' alum CC fishing boat that I restored and after 6 years she is beaten down a bit and at some point late this summer or fall I plan on giving a facelift. The Center console needs to be re finished and I do not want to go with paint. I want to do a new gelcoat. leanin post TFF Celebrity L Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 7,009 TEXAS	Gelcoat is a super thick resin type paint that dries flexible and can be polished to a gloss. its easy, mix the hardener with the paint, roll it on, brush it on, whatever, let dry, sand, repeat. keep this process up until you have the desired coverage. buy PLENTY THROW AWAY ROLLERs, PAINTBRUSHES, PLASTIC BOWLS, RUBBER LATEX GLOVES, AND SAND PAPER. It is like working with fiberglass, just colored. It dries slower too. COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

They are very durable and applied to a properly prepared surface will last for years. I painted a sailboat deck with Interlux Interthane two-Part paint and it held up to 10 years of heavy uses. The new paints are easily applied with a roller or spray gun. The commercial paints like Awlgrip and Imron are very good.
