Trying Tawakoni for the first time. Any general recommendations on the better crappie Areas? I tried shallow water west of the 751 bridge today with no luck. Water temps were in the high 60s in the backs of coves.

Get in the back of coves with matted weeds, males are under the weeds... At least that worked yesterday and friday

Get in the back of coves with matted weeds, males are under the weeds... At least that worked yesterday and friday Thank you. We found some matted weeds yesterday and I tried along the edge of them but today I'll try to push into the weeds and fish down in them.

North wind slowed em down quite a bit. The good news I did clean two females today from less than five feet

dad and I worked a little cove in my 2 man and didn't manage a single crappie on Saturday evening. We still had a good time and caught 2 cats and a ditch pickle but couldn't get a crappie bite. We fished from 1 FOW out to about 6 FOW in brushy growth and weeds. It was a great place for the 2 man in the south wind though.

Similar results for us. We caught three dinks in Duck Creek. Tried in the weed mats and water from 1.5 to 10 foot deep. The wind was not kind.
