O.k guys totally new to this and I dont understand on the top images am I looking at a split screen with two images of the same thing and why is it up and down instead of side to side . I know this sounds stupid but not sure how to explain it.

TDC (top dead center) of that shot is where the boat is, what you see in the scan is what the boat has past over which includes the water column & out to the left & right sides....
There are some good vids on YouTube that explains what SI is showing a lot better than I juss did....

The shots above were made using sidescan. Your Elite-4 will do downscan but not sidescan so your pictures will not look like that.

Any of you guys have a Lowrance HDS structure scan overlay shot of a brush pile that is holding fish? I guess it doesn't have to be a brush pile but something similar.
