So just curious, does anyone transport their Jon boat on top of their car? Would this even be possible?

It is possible but not real easy. My dad strapped a 12' Jon boat to the top a Homda Civic - once.

A boat loader makes it easy: http://boatloader.com/car_a_boat.html This is one I have used, but it requires a trailer hitch. This company has other versions as well that I haven't used, and there are do it yourself versions on u-tube. PC

When I was living back home in South Louisiana as a teenager I saw an old Cadillac or Town Car type car going down the road with a jon boat on top. No rack or straps, each person in the car had an arm out the window holding on to the boat. Can't remember how many people in the car. My dad and I were speechless. Can't make up stuff like that.

People used to do it all the time.
Especially station wagons.
