We fished real hard for 11 fish today. All were keepers but nothing over 4 pounds. The fish are as fat as I can ever remember seeing them. Best bite was later towards evening. I fished about 1030-4 Friday and didn't get a bite the first hour or so, not sure if it was the better afternoon bite or just not throwing the right stuff to start out with. I'll be out earlier next Friday so maybe I can see how the morning bite is. I probably had 10 keepers and 5 rats seamed to me like you would get a bite and there would be multiple fish in that spot then nothing for a while and then find a small group again. I really figured the fish would be in the backs of creeks and I think I wasted half my trip with that idea.

I seem to always catch smallmouth when the largemouth bite is bad. This from Friday with no wind, bluebird skies.
