"Upgrading" to a foot control TM from a Riptide 70#. Looking at the Maxxum 65# but curious if I would notice the difference in power between them. Limited to what BPS has as I have a gift card that I'm using.

If you go motorguide. Go ahead and get both cables for spare. You will thank me.

That Maxxum 65 is a bass pro only trolling motor. I'd suggest getting the 75 lb or even the smaller Edge 75 lb over the 65lb. The reason being....there is a rebate that equals the pound rating on the regular models that isn't available on the BPS only 65 lb stuff.

Disappointed in the Tm display and lack of knowledge from the guy working the electronics counter at BPS. Did so much reading up on different models, PROS/CONS of different ones and then getting ZERO help from an actual person at the store, my head hurts. Decided on the Maxxum 65#. It seems like a sturdy, well constructed TM with a good frame design.

You are right Steeze, BPS is it, looked for a price match opportunity, no one carries a 65 Maxxum 'cept them. At $600, just couldnt see anything that seemed to be a better deal around that price point. Terrovas are nice but I would have kicked in some serious $$$ to make up the difference in the gift card and price of a Terrova. After I get the Max on, I'll probably just throw the Riptide on here and make a deal with someone.

Appreciate all the feedback and PMs!
