Fished again with Andrew aka Fitz. We fished Lake Dunlap from 9:30am till 1:30pm and managed to catch some nice fish. A Crappie, and a nice batch of fat Bluegill. The fish of the day was Andrews record Bluegill that he caught on the fly. The fish was 8.75" in length with a girth of 8". The official weight was .54 Lbs which was good enough for the Lake Dunlap Bluegill Flyrod record. The fly used was a Bead Head Nymph. This was Andrews second flyrod record and both were off of Dunlap. Great times fishing two days with a great angler. It just don't get any better! fish

Great stuff, you're hooked now Andrew. Chuck put me on my first fly rod record too. I went fishing with him and got the fly rod record for a redbreast on the Comal. I also caught a trophy Rio that day. He was more excited about my record and the Rio than I was. It's great fun fishing with him in some really unique places. I'm glad you got that experience. Fishing with the legend, don't get any better than that fish

Congrats again

Thanks Jamie! I just love fishing and just being in the outdoors. Meeting some super anglers such as yourself and Andrew make it even better! This is going to be a very good year. Fish are getting more and more active! hooked

Like the saying goes. "It just don't get any better"! Great post and congratulations to Fitz on his record Bluegill! Always love reading his post.

Side Note: I guess the Crappie Spawn is in full gear and is on it's down side. When will the Bluegill/Sunfish start spawning?
