Growing up my dad and grandad fished Amistad. When we catfishes used a bait called Mr. Rogers. I think it was out of Loisiana. Has anyone heard of, or know if I can get some more? I remember it seamed to work better than modern baits.

I have used BIG Marv's bait for years...even when it was called BOB'S cheese bait ....I do recommend this cheese bait..I have caught many fish on this bait. However..you have to learn how to use it as sometimes it can be hard to stay on the hook. I add something to the bait to enhance the use...not only to stay on the hook but also enhances the attraction.
However, this bait is great right out of the bucket. I have used many different baits from many different vendors for 40 years and longer. Marv's bait still will out fish many others.
I would like to see what other baits fisherman have used and was successful. I am willing to try as many as I can...I still want to learn...it pays off.

thanks

I've done really really well with Secret 7 and Sudden Impact....fantastic for eating size fish.

CJ's Bait Co. crawdad punch bait works great for me. I have used it in several lakes and caught limits time and time again. It seems to do very well in rivers and creeks, too. I use other stuff as well, but if I only take one stinky concoction with me it is CJ's.

I agree that many of the locally made stinkbaits seem to work better than the commercial concoctions.

+ 1 on Stubby's. I've used Mr. Rogers cheese bait before he passed away. It was good, but a little difficult to stay on the hook. I've done well with Stubby's cheese bait..

Another vote for Stubbys. Best I have found for staying on the hook and catching Channels.
