I was given a estimate to change oil,oil filter, impeller, all fuel filters under cowl and 10 macron water
Seperater for approx. 600.00 that sounds kind of high to me. This is my first time to have this sho serviced and I have had two stroke engines previous so I am sure if this is out of line. Any one had this service work done and the cost.

That's reasonable, especially if it's all filters.

Sounds about right to me.

Thats a little bit more than my buddy paid for his 250 sho but he didn't get the impellor changed. Some shops charge more than others but it has always been my experience that you get what you pay for a lot of times. If its a good mechanic and you trust that he did all he was supposed to do then taking a chance with a shade tree guy to save a few bucks doesn't make sense to me. You will longer have the bad taste of poor quality than the extra you paid to have it done right.

Worked a shop for a while, that's about right. 4 strokes require marine 4 stroke oil in addition to the things you listed that are done on a two stroke. So you have several quarts of oil and the filter to buy that a 2 stroke motor wouldnt need. You trade that cost for not having to buy 2 stroke oil, works out better for you long term. Yamaha parts are a little higher than some other models but they make good motors. Labor rates will have some effect on out the door price. One dealer may charge 95 an hour the next 120, that will make up a difference of 50 to 100. If your gonna do all that have your lower unit oil done too.

Thanks for the information from all. I have already changed the oil in the lower unit. I got to thinking and when I had my 250hpdl serviced I didn't have the impeller change so that will add to the cost . Just cost to own a boat.
