I see water temperature is already 65. Does anyone think we will see bluegill/shell crackers on the bed 1H April this year? Typically end April/1H May is best but seems to be an early spring.

Seeing a lot of Bass on beds. Once the bass spawn is over the Bluegill/Sunfish usually move in. Give it another two weeks. Also caught a bunch of Bluegill yesterday with some Rios and all of them were urinating when I was taking out the hook. Sure sign the spawn is not that far off.
IGFA World Record Rio Grande Cichlid. Lake Dunlap. John 3:16 Sinner's Prayer. God forgive me a sinner. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior !

I haven't fished Raven this year but in Conroe right now the perch are spotty in shallow waters but in good numbers and fairly active in deeper water.

Raven is THE DEAL! It's a classic bass/sunfish relationship lake and they both keep each other in check very well, which makes for good fishing for both. Kinda hard to fish that lake from shore from Late Spring till Late Fall (unless you fish the piers), but if you time it right and get there when the bluegill make the first Early Spring run to the shallows to feed, it can be a very memorable day.

Great balance of Bass and Sunfish. Both are small and excellent for kayak fishing. 2 of my favorite places to fish.
