For those who have installed LED lights I'm wondering if the LED light strips for interior lights attract bugs. One color/brand better than another for reducing bug attraction? On the exterior lights I am planning on going with the green "fish lights" anyone have theirs mounted below the waterline? If so what brand/type would you recommend?

Yes they do. As far as I've noticed, there's not one color vs another that's going to "eliminate" bugs' attraction to you at night. You'll get them regardless.

I would not recommend lights mounted below the waterline. If you want to submerge LED's, get something like a baitsnake.

From what I read (Don't quote me on it), Yellow & Red Lights attracts bugs the least.

Amber is what I'm going to try inside the cockpit. Now to decide which ones.

I wired some up this weekend along with a 360 light on the back. Yep they do attract bugs but it's not as bad as my headlamp. i considered putting mine on the inside of my yak and I'm glad I didn't. These lights are bright.

The lights look good! Are the light on the front and the 360 light both white LED? I bought a couple of 4 inch Amber LED strips today I'm going to install in the cockpit this weekend if I get my switches in from Amazon. Glad to know the Academy lights worked out OK. I was looking at the green ones this afternoon. Did you use only the adhesive or did you screw them to your yak with the track and screw-in end tabs. Nice fish as well!

The academy No Limits LED 26" strips have worked great for me. I used the adhesive and screwed the end caps to my yak. I chose the green ones and am very happy with them.

All the lights are too bright for my eyeballs. I put SuperNova Fishing Lights inside the hull to reduce glare. Guess it would depend on the color of your kayak. The green does attract bait much better.

Blue in the bow.

White inside hull in cockpit.
