Does anyone have any experience with this lake? We are camping at the Midway campground next month and I'm bringing my kayak. What's the fishing like there? Any help is appreciated.

From Midway Park in a kayak I'd suggest going left (upstream) and fishing that bank. If you're brave and don't mind a long paddle, go right and stay on the near bank until you get to the country club golf course. Lots of good fishing around it and back up in the canal. Remember that Lake Waco basically runs from the south to the north, which is exactly opposite from most lakes in Texas. The area you're in will be somewhat sheltered from a south wind and totally exposed to a north wind.

We can load up the yaks and drive wherever we want, just wasn't familiar with the lake. If there are any other spots to drop in that are good fishing areas and protected from the wind please let me know. Thanks.

From Midway go north on Hwy6 about 2 miles and take a right on Speegleville Rd. Go to the first major intersection which will be 412 and take a right. It will take you straight to a small COE ramp that's at the back end of Speegleville Creek. Good fishing all up and down that creek and it will be pretty protected from the wind. If the water is warm enough there should be a decent frog bite in there.

There is a creek right next to Midway that holds some fish.

Thanks everyone. I looked at the satellite map and will try the spots. Hopefully the wind lays down that weekend.
