Get the Helix 10.

they are very similar feature wise. The screen is far better on the 10. The future support is likely gonna be better with the 10 also.

Helix. Is brighter and better screen. The 1199's are being phase out for Helix and Onix models.

I would go Helix. The 1199s are discontinued and probably wont get anymore updates. helix will have a faster processor and auto chart live. They have the wider screen which is better for side imaging

I was considering the exact units. Cabela's has the 1199's on sale for $1,299 which is $1,000 less than the original price. That had my attention but I have pretty much decided to go with a couple of Helix SI 10's due to the newer technology they offer.

The one thing the 1199 has going for it is that it qualifies you to sign-up for the Humminbird Select program. That gives you an additional year of warranty plus a few other perks.

Same deal with the Helix 10 I bought earlier this year. It is part of the Select promo too.

That's good to know. I'll pick up a Helix 10 DI for the bow at some point.

My understanding is yes, they can be networked.

Yes, with an Ethernet cable and one Ethernet adapter cable for Helix. The 998 would need the latest update. It would require a Helix 9,10,12. Those are the only Helix units that are ethernet capable
