New to fishing ponds in the fort worth area. I have managed to find some forum posts regarding ponds in this area, but most are very old. Looking for recent fishing reviews for local ponds in the Keller/Fort Worth area. I tried the Colleyville Nature Center and Keller Municipal pond last weekend with zero luck. It was really windy and cold so I didnt give it much chance. Anyone have recent luck in this area?

You might try the bank fishing section.

The pond in front of Lifetime Fitness in Colleyville has a bunch of fish in it. Some good ones too. Also the one in front of the Police Dept has fish in it too up to 3#.

The one in front of my old subdivision Broughton has a bunch of bass in it too. It is behind the old Colleyville fire station on Hall Johnson. They may have marked it for homeowners only tho.

The pond above the Keller Municipal pond (walk under the bridge on the east side) is great for numbers. The Keller Municipal pond has bigger fish but I usually don't catch as many.

Capp Smith Park in Watauga is also good for numbers.

Thanks everyone! Great advice. I live less than a mile from Capp Smith park. I need to try it out. I will also try those Colleyville spots as well and report back.

There's a Hilton behind bass pro in grapevine. Behind there is a pond bass pro would occasionally drop extra fish in. Kinda rustic but walkable.

To Fouz' point, there is a sticky in the bank fishing section that has a link to google maps. It has a ton of bank fishing spots all around the state, the majority of which are in DFW.

Yes, I have looked at that. Although very helpful, I was also interested in how folks have done recently at these location. I like to hear about what was used and techniques. I'm must admit, I am not the best bass fisher and really appreciate reading what anglers are doing in these locations. I find it extremely helpful.

So far, I have gone to Capp Smith Park. Yesterday late afternoon around 4PM. I did nothing but Texas Rig watermelon and pumpkin seed worms. Fished for about 2 hours and came up empty. Spoke to a few other guys out there and they didn't have any luck either. Never the less, I will keep going back as I know there has to be something in that place. Hopefully this weekend, I will try out Keller town hall and possibly bear creek. Bad day fishing is better than a good day working.

Last Saturday my brother and I tried Keller municipal pond. Nice place, but I noticed tons of snakes. I understand that's a common critter, but still doesn't mean I have to like it. Brother caught 2.5-3 pound LMB in the main pond. We went under the road to the smaller pond and I managed to pull in another one about the same size. Bite was slow, but I did miss one in the process. Both caught on Texas Rig worm. Good times!

Snakes are out. Had a water moccasin sneak up on me at Lake Grapevine on Sunday.
