I was fishing a power plant with a very wide in-take. I ran over to it and there was a guy and girl fishing. If the in-take was 100 years wide, they were ~30 yards from the bank on 1 side and facing the bank and fishing it or fishing in front of their boat with backs to me, so there was ~70 yards behind them. I stopped about 50-75 yards out and trolled in and was about 20 yards form the opposite bank as them and began fishing the intake. Was I in the wrong for coming in there and fishing as it regards to "fishing etiquette"? Thanks

I wouldn't have minded you coming in. Most of the time I have no problems with others fishing close to me in situations like that, it's when I'm going down a bank and they pull in 30 yards ahead and cut me off or when they want to fish the marker I threw out.

If you want to get me fired up pull in on a bank line I'm fishing and fish back toward me! That is the biggest sin in the world to me! I've had it done to me on more than one occasion and it's all I can do to keep from coming unglued!!

I had a group of three guys and Sunday during mega bass on fork pull in front of me on a bank I was working I'd say about 60 yards put there power poles down. As I got closer I started to go around them then they pulled poles up and started in front of me again so I moved back in to work the bank they got about 70 yards and put the poles back down so as I got closer and started to go around they pick them up again to stay in front finally I got pissed put my TM on 100 and hauled [censored]. They started to do the same thing except they hit a stump about thru them out of the boat then there [censored] end swung around and hit a tree out of the water about ripped there rear light pole out. Once I got in front of them I was able to start working the water I wanted to. Long story short I wasted 15 to 20 min and about 200 yards of fishing water with the bs.

Pull in behind me and follow me all day long, pull in front of me and I'll follow you, fishing slower, picking up the ones you're missing because you're trying to fish my water in front of me. Myself, I try to keep my distance, if I know you I'll come in close enough to say hello, how you doing, good luck and good bye. GOLDEN RULE APPLIES IN FISHING TOO. Tournament anglers don't have any more rights than casual anglers.

Do you have a distance in mind ? if you are on the south bank of a lake then it is off limits to other anglers clap

Fish where ever you want Frank, all this bs about throwing slabs at boats, jumping in boat, crankbaits on frog rods getting slung around is pure bs, none of it happens, nobody is gonna do anything and probably not say anything either. I fish on top of other boats all the time.

for a minute I thought you were talking about us but we didn't have a light pole in...... I would never do that on purpose anyway. and I did hit a stump with my trolling motor that almost threw me out.... man that would have been cold!!!!!!!

I don't get too worked up about it. I'm confident that I can go catch fish somewhere else on the lake if someone creeps in on my area. The lakes are too big to worry about one small area. Of course it is a good idea to fire up the big motor and hammer down on your way out. thumb

I saw you stop fishing to put your fish in the livewell so I figured it was okay if I threw in there a couple times....
