98 tidecraft spitfire 115 16ft with a 98 120hp force. Gotta a buddy looking at one I did the compression check on the motor everything looked good one owner boat. Only probly I could see is carbs need to be rebuilt one seal was blown out, still cranked right up on muffs, and needs all new carpet. Outside looked really good few scratches on bottomed but nothing buffing couldn't fix. I'm not a big fan of force motors and don't know anything about tidecraft boats. What do yall think it's worth?

Buyer beware. Tidecrap boats are very cheaply built, take it from someone who owned one. Fiberglass very thin if you don't believe me take a flashlight and on the outside shine through where the carpet seems are in the floor. Check the transom thoroughly had another buddy that had one that the transom ripped off of it when he hit a stump. When I traded mine in when I bought my Triton in 01 it was 10 years old with a Merc 115 for $4000. Mine was a Wildfire 120xv. I would tell my buddy to wait there are a lot better choices out there if I were you.

[img] [/img] Here is a pic he ended up getting it for 1600 boats been stored it's whole life and transom is solid so after new carpet and carbs re done he should still be a little under what's it's worth.

The motor is a "force" made by Mercury. It IS NOT a Force or even a Chrysler Force. Both of which are really bad. It's a tank of a motor, but pretty indestructible. It isn't gonna be a fast boat. But, hey....it was cheap. I have a Nitro with the same motor. The motor is solid. Has probably 1000's of hours on it. Replaced the starter twice and plugs once. Change lower oil yearly. That's it.....oh...and a repaint.
Looks like a great starter boat. Tell him to see if he likes bass fishing. If he does, it will make a good trade in on a new-er boat down the road.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.
