 How big a tournament is the LOBI

Planned on heading to Toledo Bend with a buddy April 1st and 2nd and looked at the tournament schedule. I noticed the LOBI is scheduled that weekend, I may have read it wrong but is this a 500 boat tournament? If so I probably won't bother with think the chaos..

It usually has 500+ boats in it, but there is still a lot of water to fish in.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

I know it's a big lake Just the thought of 500 boats is a little overwhelming. I'm surprised I was able to get a room booked at Fin and Feather a couple days ago.

As crowded as Toledo is this year it's hard to tell even an oilmans tourney from a normal weekend.

Also you have to be in the oil and gas industry to qualify.

I heard the TOBI had 670 teams (not confirmed)

Or just fish with someone who is or gets part of their income/retirement from it Unless it has changed since I fished the TOBI and the LOBI, both members of the team must get something like at least 80% of their yearly earnings from the oilfield. I have no doubt that there are probably some who do not adhere to this as it is unlikely they will get caught. However, again, unless it has changed in the last 8 yrs. or so, both must be in the oilfield. Not all oilfield tourneys are like that, but these 2 at least were at one point. The Red River Oilmen's Challenge is one that only 1 member has to be in the oilfield and I am sure there are others.
