As a special thanks to everyone who encouraged me to write my book. You're all invited to a meet and greet this coming Saturday from Noon to 7pm. We will have grilled hamburgers and cold drinks for everyone. I will be giving away one of my best selling books every hour to one of you present who enters the drawing. More than 30,000 fishermen from across the U.S. have reviewed and made my book a best seller. Come out and lets talk fishing whether its Big Bass or Big Crappie! Thanks to all of you here on the Texas Fishing Forum for your support. I have received hundreds of personal messages, met new people, heard from people I used to know and look forward to shaking your hand as a fellow fisherman. I wrote this book to hopefully pay it forward to all the young anglers who might someday be able to say they had the fishing journey of a lifetime. I also want to thank Pat Lobbs Toyota of Mckinney, Plano Marine and Skeeter Boats for sponsoring this special event for me. God Bless John Lee Smith

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

What exactly does "over 7 to 9 pounds" mean? 10 pounds? 9 pounds, 1 ounce? Does an 8 pound fish count as over 7 to 9 pounds? I'd think not. Were none of your fish over 9 pounds?
See what I mean? That's very badly worded. Last night the plastic weather TV clown cited winds "over 30 to 40 miles per hour"? Why provide a range while throwing in another word that exceeds the range? Just go with "over 40", if that's accurate, and call it a day. I have a penchant for getting things right and writers should always be eager to stamp out every last inadequacy.
That said, your book looks, well, really good. It's likely I'll buy it one of these days. Best wishes for great success.
