That's what I heard. Also heard his partner, which is his buddy, tried to weigh in 5 fish on the co-angler side. They sound like a couple of standup gentlemen

Not sure, but I did hear his co-angler brought 5 fish to weigh-in. I normally fish this series but only fishing the southeast division this year. I talked to a couple guys that fished it. Coach

Just for a small clarification. The co-angler did not know the boater he fished with and was not personal friends with him. The only reason the co-angler fished it was because he had not been on the lake in years and was basically pre fishing for the TTT tournament. What happened at weigh in was that the co-angler missed the rule about weighing only 3 fish and was in know way trying to cheat. They actually took his two biggest fish out of the bag and weighed the three smallest fish. Not sure why there was a disqualification on the boater side but was surprised my self when the results were changed.

So basically he was hoping he would draw someone with knowledge of where the fish was on RC, why didn't he pre fish with his partner then? That's exactly what kills draw tournaments!!

Just don't get why some people think that kills the draw tournaments. The lake changes so much from wk to wk, yr to yr anyway. Hell, your (I'm) not even competing against the co's anyway.

It is a reason some of the better sticks will not fish low level (low payout) draw tournaments. Especially during certain times of the year.

I can understand everyone's concern with this matter as we all take our fishing very seriously. Heck, I used to fish as a boater in this division not long ago.

I can only make adjustments as they are brought to my attention and there were two violations that occurred at Richland Chambers that day. I can assure you with the information that I have received since then, there was no foul play involved during the event.

The individual that received the DQ fished a clean tournament. It was simply a rules violation that impacted the final results. The statement above made by texas wetlands is also 100% accurate. It was a sheer coincidence that both cases came from the same boat. Neither one of the anglers had met each other prior to this day.

Coming to the bump tank with more fish than the required tournament limit is not a disqualifying factor, but does come with the penalty of loosing your largest fish and culling down until the correct number has been reached. (Much worse than losing .50 lbs for a dead fish if you ask me)

It is my job is to make sure you all enjoy yourselves in competition by putting on a good tournament. I feel for all the parties involved but the rules are written for your protection as well. Unfortunately, in this case it was a very distinct change in the final results but the decisions were made with careful consideration.

I truly enjoy what I do. Fishing is an addiction and we all love it. The last thing I want to do is penalize or DQ anyone but as the TD it's also my job to make sure the rules are followed, and I will stand by them every time.

Tight lines everyone!

well said, and in my opinion you run a great tournament, friendly, concerned, and way beyond what is necessary as a t.d. thanks
