Thank you all. For those that do not know.....Dr JL is the true legend on Camelot Bell. If anyone wants to know how to catch GIANTS there, ask him. He has caught more giants there than anyone I know. He is a big fish magnet, and a heck of a nice guy.

Well everyone has the right to their own opinion so here's mine:

If anyone is criticizing any angler for fishing a private lake and being proud of catching monster bass, they had better be fishing off the bank with a cane pole and worm. We all do things to increase our odds at catching the fish of a lifetime such as buying 60,000$ boats, having thousands of dollars in electronics, ect. To me, weather that's a public lake, private lake, lake in Mexico, or a lake in Japan, catching a 16 lb bass is an amazing accomplishment. It doesn't make someone any less of an angler to catch monster bass out of a private lake. All the angler doing is increasing their odds at that fish of a lifetime something we all do. Just look at electronics these days, you can damn near count the number of scales on a fish 30' deep next to a tree limb. So for someone to try and belittle someone fishing from a private lake must be calling the kettle black.

My same opinion goes to those who hunt high fence. There are very different levels of high fence hunting. Again, unless your deer hunting with a spear that you hand knapped I don't think you have much of an argument. People say it's a rich mans hunting? Well let me tell you I own land and hunt on it. I also have a 2,000 acre low fence lease on the red river in the panhandle. It cost about 6500$ to kill a 150-160" deer on a private managed high fence ranch. I gaurantee I spend twice that on my land and my lease. I've killed a few 160" deer on my lease, but I've also hunted high fence and can tell you (at least on the giant high fence ranch I've hunted on) that it's not like shooting deer out of a pin. They can still hear, smell, and act like a wild deer. You're just increasing your odds of shooting a trophy deer which every deer hunter does in some form or fashion.

Congrats on the monster catch and thanks for giving your story of how it happened. Another lake added to the bucket list which is already long enough lol.
