I had a taste of combat fishing at Tawakoni Spillway, man oh man these people got me scratch my head. It started out just me and a young man and his mom. The boy was very good caught a hybrid every cast, then started to teach his to fish... then I caught a couple hybrids. Here come a young man, boom boom caught two hybrids, then come anther master fisherman, boom he caught 3 fish. OK. Am humbled now, so retie my jig, I look up 7 more people joined us including 3 very old men with big and heavy 12 foot surf rods. We tried to manage the madness by showing people to take turns and parallel casting... then one old decided to cast across every one lines, another very old man decided to climb down the rock with his big pole while his legs and hands were trembling, but he can sure cast out that pole... while I was awestruck another old man slid and fell in the water and hit his head lost his conscious momentarily and people had to jump in the water to pull him out, they couldn't get him up the steep cement slope, I went over to help the old man move to the side and sat down on a rock....

Ok, back to fishing, lost track of how many people now had joined us, the two old men now occupied the two front spots, lines were flying crossing over each other 5 or 6 levels deep. The old men would not move when others had fish on, he would not move when he had fish on, he would not move when his line tangled up, he keep wiggle his pole and twisted my line with his pole, told to wait while I tried to get my line out, he was Def and couldn't understand English...lol

Lmao... Thats why I cant stand that place.

This is why I seldom bank fish. That and I'm too lazy to walk very much. lol

Are you moving back from Austin now?

No Moon, I'm still in Austin. Just had some business to take care of and on my way back I stopped by the spillway to fish probably for the last time. Normally I don't do combat fishing, lol.

Heard from one of my buddy today that a few guys got busted and had all their gears and fish confiscated by the game warden for crossing the buoy and keeping over their limit.

This is why I bank fish in the dark when they are biting while everyone else is asleep

For me guilty of A, B, C, and maybe D (hey when I started there were only 3 of us and it was kind of cool to fish next to a lady with a surf rod, lol)

I had a neighbor and his son drive over to look and game warden was working the southeast side of the bridge and another in the parking area. They did run into a couple of teenagers who had their five hybrid limit each

... and at the end of the day I cut my line and not the old man's line, so I feel pretty good about myself with this whole experience.
