I'm still a rookie at crappie fishing. I've heard cold snaps turn off fish and put them in deep water. The marina is about 18 feet deep in the crappie house with cover. I have had luck in cold weather there but not sure if I should try in the morning. Would fishing be terrible even if there's fish on the brush in the barge? Any advice would be appreciated

I haven't been in a week but they seemed to be moving in shallow. I say give it a shot in the morning. Inside will probably be the best bet (out of the wind.)

I was out there tonight from 9-11ish fishing the crappie house with jigs. I pulled in one dink about 6" and didn't have -another bite all night. I seen a few small ones pulled off the rocks. Good luck!

I was there this past week. I caught one keeper male in 2 FOW and a big full female in 20 FOW. Only caught one dink at the crappie house and there were a few people there that night and only one keeper caught. I think the females are waiting for the males to make the beds right now. Might be next couple of weeks and it will get into them shallow. Water may still be too cold.
